Fire hoses are flexible hoses used to deliver water at fire scenes. They can be classified into lined and unlined fire hoses based on material. Unlined fire hoses have lower pressure resistance, higher resistance, are prone to leakage, and are susceptible to mold and corrosion, resulting in a shorter lifespan. They are suitable for installation in building fires. Lined hoses are resistant to high pressure, abrasion, and mold, are durable, less prone to leakage, have lower resistance, can be bent and folded freely, and are easy to move. They are suitable for installation in external fire scenes and for connecting fire trucks.

Precautions for using fire hoses:

1. Avoid sudden bends during installation to prevent a reduction in water pressure resistance; also avoid twisting to prevent the hose from rotating after filling with water and causing the internal coupling to detach.

2. After filling with water, avoid dragging the hose forcibly on the ground. When changing position, try to lift and move it to reduce wear between the hose and the ground.

3. Avoid contact with oils, acids, alkalis, and other corrosive chemicals.

4. 5. In areas where flames or strong radiant heat may occur, cotton or linen hoses should be used.

6. After use, hoses should be thoroughly cleaned. Unlined hoses should be hung to dry, then coiled and stored in a cool, dry place.

7. If small holes are found during use, they should be tightly wrapped with a hose wrapping cloth and repaired as soon as possible afterward. If obvious damage occurs, the hose should be immediately withdrawn from service.

8. When vehicles need to pass over the hoses being laid, hose bridges should be installed at the crossing points beforehand.

9. If the hoses need to cross railway tracks during laying, they should pass under the rails.

10. In cold regions, lined hoses should be used on the exterior of buildings to prevent freezing.
