Based on detection principles, household fire alarms (smoke detectors) are mainly divided into photoelectric and semiconductor (or ionization) types. Photoelectric smoke detectors are based on the principle of optical scattering and use a light labyrinth design. They are sensitive to large particles of smoke produced by smoldering fires, but may trigger false alarms due to water vapor and dust. Semiconductor smoke detectors are based on changes in the conductivity of semiconductor materials. They are more sensitive to combustible gases and respond quickly to open flames, but may trigger false alarms due to kitchen fumes and alcohol.

Installation, Testing, and Maintenance: Press the test button immediately after installation; perform a functional test monthly; clean the alarm's air intake every six months; conduct a simulated smoke test annually; replace the battery promptly when low; it is recommended to replace the entire alarm every 10 years.

Relevant Standards: The product must comply with domestic and international safety and performance standards, such as the US UL 217 standard, NFPA 72 National Fire Alarm Standard, and China's GB 50166 "Construction and Acceptance Standard for Automatic Fire Alarm Systems".
